Archery is the perfect inclusive PE activity , offering opportunities for all pupils to succeed and develop their skills, demonstrating responsibility for their individual performances.
Alongside its relevance to the PE curriculum, archery fits well into themed terms such as ‘Medieval Lives’, ‘Castles’ or ‘The Normans’. Pupils will develop their balance, concentration and patience throughout the activity, which maps onto the 2014 National Curriculum for PE at key stages 1-4. The activity can also be tailored to the key stage 2 Science curriculum, with experiments on forces and angles.
We’re based in the Wye Valley, right on the border between South Wales and the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, but we love to travel so can bring archery to your school. Get in touch if you’d like to try archery as a one off taster activity, a series of progressive sessions in lesson time or after school or as part of an induction or fun day.
